Cooperation, Cohesion And Progress Key For New Council

Lake Macquarie City Council

Lake Macquarie Mayor Councillor Adam Shultz is excited to lead Lake Macquarie City Council for the next four years after being declared as Mayor on Tuesday 1 October.

The NSW Electoral Commission declared the successful candidates across the city’s three wards this week, with four new Councillors joining Council.

Mayor Adam Shultz secured more than 60 per cent of the Mayoral vote to secure top spot for the next term, which runs through to September 2028.

“I am confident that we can collaborate effectively for the benefit of our city regardless of political background,” he said.

“With many exciting projects and initiatives on the horizon, I strongly believe the spirit of cooperation demonstrated in previous terms of Council will continue.”

Mayor Adam Shultz congratulated all returning Councillors, and those newly elected, and thanked outgoing Mayor Kay Fraser for her strong leadership over the past eight years.

“I look forward to building on Kay’s achievements as Mayor of Lake Macquarie, and delivering for the 220,000 residents of Lake Macquarie, as well as all the people who come here to visit, work and play.”
