At the Council Meeting held on August 13, 2024, Council adopted an amended version of its Community Participation Plan (CPP).
The CPP is a critical document that sets out the methods and requirements for notifying and engaging the public on various planning issues, including planning proposals, amendments to the Development Control Plan, and different types of development assessments. The plan ensures transparency and encourages community involvement in the planning process.
Council’s previous CPP, adopted in 2019, did not incorporate later changes in legislation, policies, and procedures.
To develop the amended CPP, Council conducted extensive outreach, including notifications in the Goulburn Post, updates on the Council’s website, and direct communications with local Aboriginal representatives and over 400 development industry stakeholders.
Council’s amended Community Participation Plan introduces important changes to the notification and advertising requirements for planning proposals, Development Control Plan amendments, and development assessments. These changes reflect the updates in legislation and policies since the 2019 CPP.
