With the kids now back at school, Council is prepping for the next edition of their popular School Holiday guide, calling on submissions to feature in the September edition.
The booklet, which provides an easy way for families to find the best experiences on offer in the city during the school break, features activities on offer for young people up to the age of 17.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Cr Ann-Maree Greaney encouraged people to make the most of Council’s offer to advertise their activities for the two-week holiday starting Saturday 16 September.
“Council’s School holiday Guide is a one-stop-shop for kids, parents and caregivers to make it easy to plan activities over the school holidays,” Cr Greaney said.
“Families tell us they love that it includes an extensive and diverse range of affordable and engaging activities for kids of all ages and interests.”
Local businesses and community groups who offer low to no cost activities for children and teenagers, are being called to submit their activity details online, before submissions close on 30 July.
All submissions for activities are advertised for free in the publication and on the and organisations are also invited to add their events and activities to the city’s main event calendar, the website.
“It’s important that the activities are accessible to all families so that our community can make the most of what’s on offer,” Cr Greaney said.
“Council is committed to ensuring Townsville is a city that connects people to what they need easily and our School Holiday Guide helps us deliver on that promise.”
