The City of Ballarat has completed several projects and strategies as part of its Council Plan 2017-2021.
During the fourth quarter period, from April to June:
- The White Flat Reserve change facilities refurbishment was completed, providing for female friendly facilities and new public toilets
- The third Ballarat Reconciliation Action Plan was launched
- The Creative City Strategy and Masterplan was adopted and implementation begun
- The Events, Arts and Culture Strategy was completed and all 2018/19 listed events delivered
Council also completed the Little Bridge Street Pocket Park Project evaluation, Wendouree West Recreation Reserve Safety Activation Project evaluation, Right to the Night Pilot Project evaluation and the Wendouree West Laneway Safety Project evaluation.
The City of Ballarat adopted its four-year Council Plan on 28 June 2017, which describes its priorities and outcomes for its four-year term and how these will be resourced.
Ballarat Mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh said the latest progress report would give the community confidence Council was on schedule to meet the plan’s commitments.
“Reporting on our progress every quarter is a key principle of transparency and good governance, and it helps raise awareness in the community of what Council is doing to make Ballarat a proud city that is bold, vibrant and thriving,” Cr McIntosh said.
“Our Council Plan will also help reinforce Ballarat’s position as the capital of Western Victoria over coming decades.”
