Following The Voice Referendum results, Nillumbik Shire Council remains committed to reconciliation. We continue to work to improve the health and wellbeing of First Nations people in our community. We learn from and empower Traditional Owners and First Nations people so that Nillumbik is a stronger community for all.
A snapshot of our work towards reconciliation includes:
- Developing our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP): stay up to date at
- Establishing a RAP Working Group – applications opening very soon
- Continuing regular consultation with the Wurundjeri Woi-wurung Traditional Owners
- Supporting community-led reconciliation projects and events through our Reconciliation Grants: opening Jan 2024
- Working with Traditional Owners to provide community education on caring for Country and climate
- Recognising ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Reconciliation Week, ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Sorry Day and NAIDOC.
