The many innovative and sustainable services Lake Macquarie City Council provides to the community are being highlighted as part of Local Government Week, 29 July-4 August 2024.
Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said Local Government Week was about showcasing the work councils do in their communities, including the wide variety of services they provide.
“We are committed to listening to the needs of our ever-evolving community and providing services to meet those needs,” Cr Fraser said.
“We’re proud to have delivered more than 100 services to more than 220,000 residents in the past year.
“Looking forward, our 2024-2025 Operational Plan will see $381 million injected into the community.
“We’re poised to spend $111.5 million on capital works over the next financial year, with a strong focus on core pillars of business, like road maintenance and rehabilitation, waste management, community facilities, parks and playgrounds.”
