Council is partnering with young Lancefield siblings Angel and Jesse Ashman to deliver a bushfire relief concert at Kyneton Town Hall on Saturday 1 February.
It is hoped up to 400 people will attend the community-led event, which has an impressive line-up of known names and local talent. The proceeds of all ticket sales will go directly to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Twenty year old Angel and 16 year old Jesse told Council they were heartbroken by the devastation following the bushfires.
“We were moved to do our part to help, as individuals and as a music community,” Angel said. “We’re from a family that loves performing and listening so it is special to be able to do something that we love, knowing that it will help.
“We reached out to the Macedon Ranges Shire Council and Lancefield and Kyneton businesses for support and received remarkably positive responses. It really goes to show that when needed, small communities are willing to help make a difference. Please join us as a community to raise money for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal and help make a difference to the fire devastated regions of Victoria.”
Chief Executive Officer, Margot Stork said the concert was a great example of young people driving positive change for the benefit of others.
“Council is pleased to be able to support such a worthy event and we encourage everyone to come along, have a great time and raise money for those in need.”
Master of Ceremonies at the concert will be Athol Guy from The Seekers. Artists featured include Lloyd Spiegel, Taylor Sheridan, Geoff Achison, Scott Darlow and Marcie Jones, supported by Placeholder, Brad Gruber, Nate Smith, 40 Thieves, Cooper Carmichael, Paper Jane, Jarrod Shaw, Jacob Soltan, Angel and Jesse Ashman.
Concert tickets cost $25. Doors open 5pm, music starts at 6pm. The concert is proudly supported by Macedon Ranges Shire Council and Kyneton Toyota. Kyneton’s Bendigo Bank will directly deposit all proceeds to Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
