Mayor Ruth Gstrein encouraged residents to support their local pool and take advantage of the fantastic facilities.
“Love your local pools. They are terrific community assets and continue to be great value for money.
There’s also a chance for young pool users to brush up on their skills and stay safe in the water.
“All of our Council pools will run the VICSWIM Summer Kidz Program in January,” Cr Gstrein said.
“I encourage parents of children between 4 and 12 to sign them up so they can build swimming skills and learn about water safety.
“Because of the pandemic, many children have missed out on water safety programs over the past two years. Swimming is a fun and social pastime with great health benefits as well.
The program will be held over the first three weeks of January with each week consisting of five consecutive 30-minute lessons from Monday to Friday.
Enrolments for the VICSWIM Summer Kidz program open on Tuesday 16 November .
Council Sports and Recreation Coordinator Jane Hinds said the Victoria YMCA would manage the pools for the next three years.
“We are really excited by this appointment and welcome back Jason Sheard and Kate Ludeman at a local level,” she said.
“The YMCA team is working on maximising events to encourage everyone to come along.”
