Council to reopen customer centres, libraries and animal pound

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) updates

Council is planning for the reopening of its customer centres, libraries and Animal Management Facility from Monday 1 June.

“With the lifting of restrictions from the NSW Government, we are pleased to be able to reopen our customer service centres, libraries and Animal Management Facility to the public,” Mayor Tim Overall said.

“We have put in place COVID-safe plans for our customer centres and libraries and we ask our community to follow the directions and distancing measures that will be in place.”

To improve safety for customers and staff, the Queanbeyan customer centre will be relocated to the foyer of The Q. Opening hours for all our customer centres will be confirmed prior to 1 June. Please check our website at for up to date information.

Planning, Building and Development Engineering duty enquiries will be available at the Queanbeyan customer centre from 9am-4pm each day. Duty enquiries will still be dealt with by phone at the Braidwood and Bungendore offices in the same way that they have since the closure of the customer service centres in late March. Residents may also make an appointment at Bungendore or Braidwood by arrangement with the relevant staff member.

Distancing markers and protection screens will be installed at all customer centres.

No cash payments will be accepted at any of the customer centres. Australia Post remains an alternate option for cash payments.

Council’s Libraries in Queanbeyan and Braidwood are also planning to open on Monday 1 June. Bungendore Library remains closed at this stage. There will continue to be restrictions to ensure the safety of our community.

  • Users will need to register their name on entry to the library, as a requirement of the NSW Government.
