‘Wear it Purple Day, held annually on Friday 26 August, strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering, and inclusive environments for LGBTIQ+ young people.
We are proud to light up the Hawthorn Arts Centre purple on both Thursday 25 and Friday 26 August 2022 to demonstrate our commitment to creating a community that embraces inclusiveness and equality for all.
Improving mental wellbeing and social connection was identified as one of 6 health priorities for Council to focus on in the Boroondara Community Plan 2021-31. We are committed to supporting our LGBTIQ+ communities, including playing our part to prevent discrimination and its harmful health and wellbeing impacts.
