Couple charged after stolen IDs, scripts, ICE seized, NSW

Two people have been charged after stolen identity documents, prescriptions forms, electronic goods and drugs were found in a motel in Bass Hill overnight.

Following investigations, officers attached to the Bankstown Proactive Crime Team went to a motel on the Hume Highway about 4pm (Thursday14 May 2020), and arrested a 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman.

When their motel room was searched, police recovered Medicare cards, photo IDs and driver’s licences – not in either person’s name – as well prescription documents alleged to have been used to illegally obtain Fentanyl. A further 20 blank prescriptions were seized as well as a laptop, printer, USB and methylamphetamine.

They were taken to Bankstown Police Station where the man has been charged with eight offences and three outstanding arrest warrants;

• Obtain or attempt-prohibited drug by false representation

• Forge or alter prescription which includes prohibited drug (two counts)

• Deal with Identity info to commit indictable offence

• Goods in custody suspected of being stolen (two counts), and

• Possess prohibited drug (two counts)

The warrants are for offences relating to forged prescriptions and obtaining prohibited drugs by false representations.

The woman has been charged with three outstanding warrants.

They’ve been refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday 15 May 2020). Both are from Bass Hill.
