The Department of Health has reported no new active cases of COVID-19 overnight.
However, the State’s total now stands at 560 after three historical cases were identified through serology testing.
These are historical cases that are no longer infectious and do not carry any ongoing risk to the public.
Two of the cases were related to cruise ships and had recovered from their illnesses before returning to WA, and one was a traveller returned from overseas who also had contact with a confirmed case – and had self-isolated at the time of her initial illness as a precaution.
Serology was performed in these cases to clarify whether their previous illnesses had been COVID-19.
There are now only two active cases in Western Australia, and no active cases in regional WA.
To date, 549 people have recovered from the virus in WA and there are no confirmed COVID-19 patients in Perth hospitals.
Yesterday 599 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics, and of these 552 were assessed and swabbed.
To date there have been 75,484 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 13,381 tests were carried out in regional WA.
