The Department of Health has confirmed two more COVID-19 related deaths in Western Australia.
A man in his 70s, who was a passenger from the cruise ship Artania, has died at Joondalup Health Campus and a Western Australian woman in her 70s, who had returned from overseas travel, has died in Royal Perth Hospital.
There were 10 new cases of COVID-19 reported overnight, bringing the State’s total to 470.
Of these confirmed cases nine are from metropolitan Perth and one is from the Kimberley.
Seven of today’s cases are related to cruise ships (the Costa Luminosa and the Costa Victoria), or overseas travel and one is a close contact of a confirmed case. Two cases are still being investigated.
As with all new confirmed cases, contact tracing is underway.
There are currently 54 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Perth metropolitan hospitals – of those 15 in ICU.
To date, 18,731 Western Australians have tested negative for COVID-19. Of these 3,787 are from regional WA.
WA has 170 recovered cases.
