Due to COVID-19 requirements significantly easing across South Australia this year, the remaining requirements in certain directions (outlined below) have been consolidated into one standalone Emergency Management Direction to streamline and provide the information regarding current requirements in one place.
Therefore, as at 5.27pm on 23 May 2022, the following directions have been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (COVID-19 Requirements) (Consolidated Measures) Direction 2022:
- Emergency Management (Activities General No 3) (COVID-19) Direction 2021;
- Emergency Management (Activities—Associated Direction No 23) (COVID-19) Direction 2022;
- Emergency Management (Arrivals No 2) (COVID-19) Direction 2021;
- Emergency Management (Arrivals—Associated Direction No 20) (COVID-19) Direction 2022;
- Emergency Management (Exposure Sites, Contacts and Diagnosis Requirements No 7) (COVID-19) Direction 2022.
This means that the requirements from the above revoked directions have been taken and placed in the newly created COVID-19 Requirements Consolidated Direction.
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Wearing masks in passenger transport, disability care facilities, public and private hospitals, health care services, pharmacies, residential prison or correctional facility, training centre or other place of residential custody (other than short-term holding facilities), planes and airports;
- COVID-SAfe Plans and QR check-ins are only required in certain settings (public and private hospitals, a residential prison or correctional facility, training centre or other place of residential custody (other than short-term holding facilities), disability care facilities, and Residential Aged Care Facilities);
- COVID-19 patients and close contacts need to follow the guidelines outlined in Schedule 1—Declared requirements for COVID-19 Cases and Close Contacts of the Emergency Management (COVID-19 Requirements) (Consolidated Measures) Direction 2022 (Note: no changes have been made to the current requirements for COVID cases or close contacts);
- All international arrivals (both unvaccinated and vaccinated) need to:
- Undertake a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) or a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival to South Australia and quarantine until they have taken this test; and
- Monitor for symptoms once a day for 14 days after arrival to South Australia.
