COVID19 update 11 April 2020

The Department of Health has today reported 8 new cases of COVID-19 overnight, bringing the State’s total to 514.

Of these confirmed cases, all 8 are from metropolitan Perth and all are related to cruise ships – Artania, 3; Costa Victoria, 4 – or overseas travel.

As with all new confirmed cases, contact tracing is underway to ensure all close contacts are notified and advised of the requirement for them to self-isolate.

There are currently 39 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Perth metropolitan hospitals, 12 of whom are in ICU.

To date, 21,591 Western Australians have tested negative for COVID-19. Of these 4,408 are from regional WA.

WA has 216 recovered cases.

The Department of Health is continuing to work closely with other Government agencies and airlines to secure the repatriation of interstate travellers who have completed periods of quarantine in WA and are now seeking to return home.

The State Government will continue to accommodate these people until necessary arrangements have been finalised.
