Cr Tyler elected Mayor, Cr Sutton-Legaud to be Deputy Mayor

Hobsons Bay City Council has elected Cr Matt Tyler as Mayor and Cr Pamela Sutton-Legaud as Deputy Mayor for 2023/24.

Cr Tyler and Cr Sutton-Legaud were elected by Council at a special mayoral election meeting on Friday 10 November 2023.

This is Cr Tyler’s first term as Mayor. The Wetlands ward councillor was first elected to Council in 2020. Trained as an economist and starting his career in the private sector, he has worked for more than a decade to improve the effectiveness of social services with a particular focus on preventing family violence and improving the well-being of children.

Strand ward Cr Sutton-Legaud was elected Deputy Mayor in her first term on Council.

Cr Sutton-Legaud has committed her career to the non-profit sector supporting the environment as well as vulnerable women and children. She is CEO of a women in STEMM leadership initiative and volunteers on several boards including the Hobsons Bay Community Fund and Seddon Community Bank.
