Federation Youth Council is set to host a series of creative projects, workshops and a youth community art expo for this year’s 2022 NSW Youth Week.
NSW Youth week is held between April 4 – April 14 and this year’s theme is “it’s up to YOUth”.
Create It Youth Week 2022, will capture many Federation Youth Council planned projects across the 10 days of celebrations.
Create it Youth Week 2022, will begin by welcoming street artist Samuel Hall to Mulwala, to install a new public space mural at Apex Park, a project Federation Youth Council are excited to deliver.
Sam will then host a street art workshop with students from Corowa High School and Oaklands Central School, at the Memorial Hall in Corowa, where each student will design, mark up and create their own street art inspired skateboard to take home.
Throughout Youth Week, Federation Council’s youngest residents and the wider community will have the opportunity to submit their own creative works to the Create It Expo, which will be hosted in the Corowa Art Space from April 15 – May 13. Art works will also be hosted through a virtual projected display in the Memorial Plaza, Corowa.
Federation Youth Councillor, Jacob Read said the Youth Council were excited to coordinate a range of activities to celebrate youth week.
“It’s exciting to be able to bring young people and the entire community together to celebrate Youth Week,” he said.
“Together, with the community, we have been working hard to create so many great experiences and this is something we are all really proud of and feel it captures the true meaning of this year’s Youth Week theme, it starts with YOUth.”
