A critical incident investigation is underway after a man was hospitalised following a pursuit and crash on an e-bike in Dubbo overnight.
Just after 3am (Friday 7 February 2025), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were patrolling West Dubbo when they attempted to stop a man riding an e-bike on Whylandra Street.
The rider failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated, traveling through local streets. Minutes later, the rider lost control and rode off an embankment, landing heavily on the creek bed below.
Officers immediately rendered assistance to the man who was suffering serious leg and chest injuries.
The 41-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Dubbo Base Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been established on Tracker Riley off Whylandra Street with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation unit attending to examine the scene.
A critical incident investigation team from Central West Police District will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation is also subject to an independent review.
