Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) members in Services Australia will be escalating their industrial action after the Agency proposed a raft of cuts.
Union members in Services Australia will take part in a 1-hour stop work action on Tuesday 15 August from 4pm.
The approach taken by Services Australia in agency specific negotiations stands in stark contrast with the multitude of other positive and constructive conversations happening across APS Agencies and Departments.
Services Australia has so far tabled proposals to cut existing employee rights on performance management, rostering, and call monitoring.
No other Agency has proposed cuts to employees’ entitlements in this round of bargaining.
The CPSU is calling on the Agency to listen to the concerns of employees and abandon its current approach.
Quotes attributable to Melissa Donnelly, CPSU ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Secretary:
“CPSU members have been clear from the start – they want a pay rise that is on time and they want to protect existing entitlements.
“While the APSC, and other Agencies, are generally taking a collaborative and positive approach to bargaining, Services Australia management seem to be stuck in the past with their agenda of cuts.
“No other Agency has proposed cuts in this round of bargaining.
“Services Australia risk missing a valuable opportunity to rebuild and restore workplaces after years of attacks on pay and conditions.
“Attacking employees’ working conditions and rights is not only out of step with every other conversation happening across the APS, but it is out of step with the goals and commitments made by the Albanese Labor Government.
“Our members in Services Australia have already been through so much and are calling on Services Australia to abandon this current approach.
