Dangerous driving charges at Caboolture 1 September

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy after he allegedly drove a stolen vehicle dangerously in Caboolture overnight.

It will be alleged in the early hours of Thursday, August 31, a red Subaru was stolen from a Rarity Street, Caboolture residence.

At 9.15pm the Subaru has collided with a Nissan Patrol on Avondale Street at Morayfield. The Subaru left the scene and the driver of the other vehicle was not physically injured.

At 10.30pm a 16-year-old Morayfield boy drove the car to a Beerburrum Road residence where a 17-year-old boy who is known to the driver, tried to stop him driving away by reaching into the vehicle.

The boy fell as the vehicle drove away and he was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At 11.35pm police observed the vehicle driving at speed on the wrong side of the road on Pettigrew Street.

At 11.44pm the vehicle was located abandoned in Wallace Street and a search of the area located the 16-year-old boy in a yard on McKean Street.

The 16-year-old Morayfield boy has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He will appear in the Caboolture Childrens Court this morning.

Investigations are continuing and police are appealing for anyone with relevant vision of the red Subaru to come forward.
