Dangerous operation charges at Caboolture

A man and two women have been charged after allegedly driving a stolen Alfa Romeo Giulietta dangerously from Tingalpa to Caboolture overnight.

Shortly before 8pm, police were advised by members of the public about the hatchback travelling at excessive speeds and driving dangerously through a number of traffic lights on Wynnum Road at Tingalpa.

Around 9pm, Polair observed the vehicle allegedly travelling at excessive speeds north on Gympie Road and monitored as it continued through North Brisbane, Pine Rivers and towards Caboolture.

The vehicle was seen allegedly continuing at high speeds and on the incorrect side of the road including the Bruce Highway.

Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle a number of times without success when it pulled into the back of a Caboolture shopping centre in Elliot Street where the occupants fled into a second vehicle.

The second vehicle evaded police and continued through a number of streets in Caboolture before officers successfully deployed a tyre deflation device shortly before 10pm on Bellmere Road at Bellmere.

The occupants abandoned the vehicle on King Street in Caboolture before officers with the help of the Dog Squad and Polair took them into custody without incident.

A 19-year-old Caboolture South man is due to appear in court today charged with 12 offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving whilst unlicensed, burglary and possess dangerous drugs.

Two women, 18 and 27, have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on August 4.

The Alfa Romeo was stolen from a Smith Place address at Cannon Hill on Tuesday, April 28.
