It’s been a week since the Andrews Government cancelled the Commonwealth Games and the Premier and Deputy Premier continue to refuse take any responsibility for this humiliation.
Today, Daniel Andrews and Jacinta Allan desperately tried to find another distraction from the scandal by spruiking the Metro Tunnel, a project running $4 billion over budget and which won’t be open to the public until 2025.
As he prepares to depart office, the Premier seems to want to have a discussion about his legacy. The Premier’s legacy is one of record debt, record taxes, sending Victoria broke and humiliating us in the eyes of the rest of the world.
The Andrews Government can continue to try to spin and deflect but it’s time for it to take responsibility for this latest bungle which could cost Victorians more than $1 billion.
The Minister responsible for the non-delivery of the Commonwealth Games, Jacinta Allan, must resign.
