Daniel Andrews has added yet another Labor mate to Victoria’s financially troubled workplace safety watchdog in another cynical move to hide his own wrongdoing.
Bob Cameron is a former Cabinet colleague of Daniel Andrews and has been appointed to chair the WorkSafe Board.
This appointment is the latest in a long list of Labor-linked WorkSafe senior executives, including WorkSafe CEO, Colin Radford and Director of Corporate Affairs, Christina Smith.
Daniel Andrews has made this appointment shortly after WorkSafe received a $450 million taxpayer funded bailout and whilst the agency continues to conduct an active investigation into bullying allegations into the Premier and his private office.
With the Victorian Ombudsman already investigating the politicisation of the public service under the Andrews Labor Government, it’s clear this appointment is entirely inappropriate and even more so, this close to the November State Election.
Shadow Minister for Workplace Safety, Nick Wakeling, said this was another case of Daniel Andrews handing out jobs for the boys to protect himself.
“Under Labor, WorkSafe has been run into the ground and it’s clear Daniel Andrews is putting his own interests ahead of workers.”
“Only the Liberals and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s will return integrity to WorkSafe and deliver better outcomes for Victorian workers and taxpayers.”
