Darwin GrantGuru Launched

City of Darwin has collaborated with the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Enterprise Centre NT to launch Darwin GrantGuru, a free online portal that assists businesses and community groups locate potential sources of funding.

The website searches and identifies grant and funding opportunities Australia-wide, across all three levels of government, philanthropic groups and corporations.

There are currently 4,491 grants worth over $181Billion available Australia-wide for businesses and community groups to apply for with this new service providing a central point from which to identify potential funding sources.

The Chamber of Commerce, Business Enterprise Centre NT and City of Darwin believe that Darwin GrantGuru will attract funds to Darwin, providing the benefits of supporting economic growth, attracting people to our city and creating jobs.

Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said he was delighted City of Darwin is leading this initiative.

“City of Darwin has a responsibility to support our community and local businesses and by joining forces with other organisations we can do just that.”

“The Darwin GrantGuru portal provides a single source of relevant and up to date information on current grants and sources of funding available Australia-wide, with the option to receive notifications about new grants when they come available.”

Phillip Loader, General Manager of the Business Enterprise Centre NT said “In the current business environment, many businesses rely on grants for sustainability and to activate growth potential. Business owners and managers find that the time required to navigate the maze of websites and finding relevant grants is a daunting and often impossible task.”

Greg Ireland, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce said the Chamber will be promoting GrantGuru to all members plus the wider business community.

“When you are head down and flat out inside your business activities, it can be difficult to find the time to search out opportunities that match your needs from within the myriad of funding options that exist.”

“By creating a single source of truth that proactively monitors for new information, GrantGuru will keep the busiest of businesses apprised of how and when to apply.”

Businesses can use GrantGuru to search for grants to start, establish or expand a business or enterprise, for research & development, innovation, sustainability and green technology, exporting, manufacturing, agriculture, IT & communication services and medical & biotechnology.

Community Grants can assist deliver a community service, address a need or host an event in the categories of arts and culture, sport and recreation, education, environment, heritage and community service initiatives.

The Darwin GrantGuru portal also includes options to receive email alerts about new grants as soon as they are available, save favourites and stay up to date with important information.
