Construction of the new Cedar Party Creek Bridge in Wingham is about to reach another significant milestone.
At 5am on Monday, 23 September, crews are expected to open the temporary detour that traffic will use during the construction of the new bridge.
This will also coincide with the closure of Wingham Road and Wynter and Combined Street intersection.
While wet weather hampered the project during its initial works, MidCoast Council’s Director of Infrastructure and Engineering Services, Robert Scott, said it was exciting to get to this stage.
“Our region has had quite a bit of unfavourable weather over the past few months, and this impacts all the construction work we are trying to do” he explained.
“With a run of pleasant weather recently we have been able to get to this point in the construction and it’s great to see.
“Motorists should be aware of the change and take extra caution when travelling on the road.”
