The NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) has been rated Australia’s number one public sector employer and the third ranked employer overall in a national study.
Recruitment company Randstad Australia led the study of more than 6,000 people, who reviewed 75 organisations, ranking them in terms of attractiveness.
DCJ Secretary Michael Tidball said the results of the Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) demonstrated that DCJ is an employer of choice.
“Staff at DCJ live by their values of service, trust, accountability, integrity and respect,” Mr Tidball said.
“Our values drive our work and commitment to delivering a high standard of service to benefit the community of NSW.
“We’re determined to strive to make DCJ an even better place to work.”
The study covered 10 key drivers of attractiveness, including meaningful work, career progression opportunities, job security and work life balance.
DCJ acting Chief People Officer Catherine Carvolth said the research is a reflection of the strong and positive culture at DCJ.
“Employees in workplaces with values-led cultures are happier and more motivated, leading to better business and client outcomes, and this shines through in the findings of this study,” Ms Carvolth said.
“We are very proud to be recognised as the number one public sector employee in Australia and value our 24,000 staff, who make it such a great place to work.”
The Randstad Employer Brand Research study is the largest independent employer brand study in the world.
Seventy-five of Australia’s largest private and public sector organisations by workforce size took part in the study, conducted by data analytics and brand consulting organisation, Kantar Australia.
