Tasmanians are quickly finding out that Dean Winter is only in their corner if it gets him a headline.
Mr Winter has made an extraordinary comment declaring that it’s not his job to stand up for Tasmanians and advocate to the Federal Government on the things that matter to them.
The Leader of the Opposition told the Examiner that the Opposition ‘had no business approaching the Federal Government’ because there is no ‘formal’ relationship.
Yet went on to trumpet about taking a delegation of industry members to Canberra and days later claimed credit for the Macquarie Point GST exemption.
Is Labor only interested in standing up for Tasmania if they get the credit?
If that’s the attitude that the Labor leader takes when it comes to sticking up for workers, industry or Tasmania’s best interests, how could Tasmanians possibly rely on him to act in their best interests during times of crisis?
It’s clear that Dean Winter will wipe his hands of any responsibility if it isn’t in his own political interests.
Unlike Labor, who only care about Labor, the Tasmanian Liberal Government is unashamedly Team Tasmania.
Our Government is backing business, growing Tasmania’s economy and providing more opportunities to all Tasmanians.
Tasmanians know that under our Liberal Government, we will always stand up and do what’s in the best interests of Tasmanians.
