The Tasmanian Government is putting the voice of children, young people and their families at the fore through the Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy.
Released today, the Strategy’s third annual report highlights the positive impact a number of actions are having on the wellbeing of young people and their families.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people and their families is a priority for the Government.
“Through the Strategy, we are delivering the initiatives and supports needed to empower our young people to grow and thrive,” Premier Rockliff said.
Since the Strategy was released, 66 projects under the Premier’s Fund for Children and Young People have been delivered.
“We know these projects help connect young people to their communities and create a sense of pride through codesign opportunities,” Premier Rockliff said.
“We are building up Tasmanian children and their families through a number of initiatives in the Strategy, including assisting 92 young Tasmanians through the Supporting Expecting and Parenting teens program, upskilling school nurses in Youth Mental Health First Aid, and delivering almost 7000 multi-disciplinary appointments to vulnerable children through the Kids Care Clinics.
“Over the past three years we have achieved a lot, and we will continue to build on this success for Tasmanian children and young people.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are delivering on the things that matter to continue to make Tasmania the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
