The Tasmanian Liberal Government will continue to deliver evidence-based and age-appropriate respectful relationships education in schools, after successfully securing additional funding from the federal government.
Tasmania will receive $2 million in federal funding for education programs across government and non-government school sectors between now and 2027-28.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said we must work together to end violence against women and children.
“This funding will directly benefit schools, providing expert-led support and informing best practice delivery into the future,” Minister Palmer said.
“This is about promoting healthy interactions between children, and helping them build the tools they need for respectful relationships.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s future, we will continue to invest in our schools, our teachers and our students.”
The implementation of the respectful relationships education funding will be guided by the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Respectful Relationships Education Expert Working Group.
