Hobsons Bay City Council is working closely with Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria and Brimbank City Council on the impact of Wednesday’s Derrimut industrial fire on our residents.
Emergency Management Victoria advises that the fire is contained.
Hobsons Bay residents and their pets should avoid contact with water at Cherry Creek and Kayes Drain. Residents might notice odours in these areas, and should avoid these areas where there are odours.
Council is monitoring the situation and how our waterways might be affected, and we will continue to communicate advice coming from the lead authorities with our residents.
