A detective senior constable from Crime Command has been charged following an internal investigation.
The 34-year-old man has been charged with one count each of unlawful assault and common law assault.
The charges relate to an incident while the officer was on-duty in January, 2022.
He has been summonsed to appear before a Magistrates’ court at a later date.
