A detective senior constable from North-West Region has been charged following an internal investigation.
The 41-year-old man has been charged with one count of unlawful assault following an incident in St Albans in January 2022.
The officer was on-duty at the time.
He has been summoned to appear before a Magistrates’ court at a later date.
