Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating gunshots fired in Altona North overnight.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots heard in the vicinity of Mills Street about 1.45am.
On arrival, police discovered multiple shots had been fired into the front door of a property on Mills Street.
Residents home at the time were not physically injured.
A crime scene has been established and the investigation remains ongoing.
