Detectives release CCTV image as part of South Coast armed robbery investigation, NSW

Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak with and are appealing for information as part of ongoing investigations into an armed robbery on the South Coast last year.

About 10.30pm on Thursday 25 July 2019, two men forced entry to a registered club on Jacobs Street, Sussex Inlet, about 40km south of Nowra.

The men – one armed with a firearm and sledgehammer, the second armed with a machete and sledgehammer – threatened six staff members and locked them in a room, before stealing cash and fleeing.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from South Coast Police District commenced initial inquiries, before detectives from the State Crime Commands Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Dalwood.

As part of ongoing inquiries, strike force detectives have released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is depicted at a hardware store in North Wollongong on about 2.15pm on Thursday 25 July 2019.

He is wearing black pants and a black and grey hooded jumper.

Investigators are not suggesting the man was involved in the incident, but they are appealing to the community for information to identify him and anyone who may have information about the incident.

Strike Force Dalwood detectives are also investigating an attempted armed robbery at a registered club at Callala Beach on Monday 30 September 2019.

Police are urging anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Dalwood detectives to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page:
