Registrations are now open for a free dinner and presentation with Dr. Rob Gordon, a clinical psychologist and expert in disaster recovery.
Dr. Gordon has supported communities following the Port Arthur massacre, Bali bombings, the Christchurch earthquakes as well as major floods, cyclones and fires.
Dr. Gordon will provide insights into recovery and will help you find comfort in his familiarity of what the community has experienced following the October 2022 floods. The presentation, facilitated by Greater Shepparton City Council’s Flood Recovery team, Resilience in Recovery, will help identify some of the key milestones that arise as a part of recovery, and how you can take care of yourself and others around you.
Council’s Flood Recovery Manager, Carla Dixon, is anticipating a strong turnout from resilient individuals who have overcome challenges caused by the October 2022 floods.
“We are confident that those who have faced adversity in the aftermath of the floods, will embrace this opportunity to attend this community event. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to the expertise of Dr Rob Gordon, a renowned disaster recovery specialist,” she said.
“We acknowledge the prolonged and difficult recovery journey many in our region are experiencing. Therefore, we are committed to providing affected community members with exceptional support and guidance, including enjoying a complimentary dinner surrounded by family, friends, and neighbours’.
