Rather than selectively quote one line from an opinion piece in the paper, Dean Winter should read the rest of it and call on his federal colleagues to honour their commitment to reduce electricity prices by $275 by 2025.
Mr Winter should also explain how on one hand he claims to support Project Marinus and Battery of the Nation, while on the other hand he wants to de-link Tasmania from the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Electricity Market.
These positions are at complete odds with one another and Mr Winter needs to explain how. Or is he not allowed to, given the party is under mainland control until 2025?
The facts are, Tasmania has the lowest, or amongst the lowest, regulated electricity prices in Australia, and we continue to do all we can to continue putting downward pressure on prices, while providing real assistance with the cost of electricity bills for those that need it the most, such as our Winter Bill Buster payment and energy saver loans program.
Marinus Link will also support lower wholesale energy prices in Tasmania through its two-way flow of energy, helping to keep future energy bills down for Tasmanian families and businesses, and increased energy security.
Mr Winter is clearly out of his depth.
