A doctor has been charged with the alleged historic sexual assault of a patient.
In January 2023, a female patient, aged in her 20s, reported a male doctor allegedly sexually assaulted her during an appointment in Leeton in 2020.
Officers attached to Monaro Police District established an investigation.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 42-year-old man in Leeton yesterday (Wednesday 18 September 2024).
He was taken to Leeton Police Station and charged with aggravated sex assault – victim under authority of offender.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Leeton Local Court on Tuesday 15 October 2024.
