Swan Hill Rural City Council will be commencing stage two works at Swan Hill Off Leash Dog Park.
Works will be undertaken on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 May and during this time the dog park will be temporarily closed.
Council’s Director Development and Planning Michelle Grainger said the eagerly awaited enhancements would see the installation of new shade sails, providing additional comfort and protection for our furry companions and their owners.
“To facilitate these improvements, the park will need to temporarily close for two days. However, we assure all dog lovers that this short closure will result in long-term benefits for both pets and their human companions,” Ms Grainger said,
Ms Grainger said contractors overseeing the project would undertake these works in a phased approach.
“The initial phase, next week, will involve completing footings on Tuesday, with inspections promptly carried out to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.
“Subsequently, the concreting of cage footings will take place on Wednesday morning, before the team steps back to allow the materials to set over the following weeks.
“Shade sail and agility equipment installation will take place early June with another temporary closure expected. We will work to ensure minimal disruption during this time also.
“Temporary fencing will be provided to ensure the safety of the site during the construction period.
“We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this brief closure, and we’re confident that the new shade sails will be warmly welcomed by all visitors,” Ms Grainger added.
Ms Grainger said the upgrades reflected Councils commitment to providing a top-quality recreational space for both pets and their owners within the community.
