Detectives from the Logan Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Person Unit (DFV & VP), supported by the Logan Tactical Crime Squad (TCS), have successfully located and arrested a man who was in breach of a Domestic Violence Order (DVO) following a targeted investigation.
Police were conducting a domestic violence-related investigation on October 18, when they located the alleged offender at an address in Springwood. The offender fled the scene, evading immediate arrest.
A continued investigation by Logan DFV & VP Unit led to a follow-up operation on October 24.
With support from the Logan TCS, police returned to the Springwood property and located the offender concealing himself in a bedroom cupboard. He was arrested and charged with multiple serious offences, including three counts of contravening a DVO (aggravated offences), unlawful escape from custody, and obstructing police.
Detective Senior Sergeant Darko Radovanovic of the Logan DFV & VP Unit praised the combined efforts of officers involved in the investigation and expressed the commitment of Logan Police to enforcing domestic violence orders.
“We are dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence and taking firm action against those who choose to disregard the law.
“This operation demonstrates our commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of the Logan community,” Detective Senior Sergeant Radovanovic said.
The 19-year-old Springwood man is due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 15.
