Applications to join the inaugural Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation Board to help to promote, advance and raise funds for arts and cultural experiences in our region are closing on Monday, December 3.
Sunshine Coast Council is recruiting professional and experienced board members who will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the independent foundation.
The foundation board will proactively seek and then distribute financial and in-kind support to arts outcomes that benefit the region.
The board members will play a strong role in helping to develop a philanthropic response to arts development across the Sunshine Coast.
The Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation will be aligned to Caloundra Regional Gallery and will enable the:
- development of a regional culture of philanthropy by encouraging donations, gifts, bequests, endowments etc. for the public charitable purposes of promoting and advancing arts and culture (all art forms) across the Sunshine Coast, and
- provision of financial and in-kind support via a range of mechanisms to organisations, groups and individuals with the aim of achieving arts outcomes that benefit this region.
The board will require skills and expertise in strategic planning, leadership, knowledge of governance and board processes, philanthropic experience, understanding of cultural policy, knowledge of the Sunshine Coast and business acumen.
While individual applicants will not necessarily possess all these attributes, priority will be given to applicants who are considered able to make the broadest contribution to the board’s work.
Board members will serve in a voluntarily capacity.
