Dow showcases new sustainable solutions at Chinaplas 2019

Dow seeks collaboration with partners through innovation and best practices

Leveraging its new brand platform – Seek Together(TM) – Dow will showcase innovative and sustainable solutions in four consumer-driven market segments: packaging, infrastructure, consumer, and transportation at Chinaplas 2019. Eight new sustainable solutions will be on display from May 21 to 24 in The China Import & Export Fair Complex, hall 10.2, booth J41 in Guangzhou.

“We constantly ask ourselves how we can make solutions and products better; longer lasting and more sustainable,” said Bambang Candra, commercial vice-president for Asia Pacific with Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics. “We envision a future where plastics are an integral part of a circular economy and retain their value throughout their lifecycle. The innovations we are highlighting at Chinaplas are demonstrating the path forward to achieve that vision.”

Dow invites attendees to explore the four distinct product segments: Protect, Build, Care, and Move. Each segment constitutes a commitment to improving our daily lives: protecting essential food and consumer goods through innovative packaging, caring for consumers through materials science that will make them happier and healthier; building infrastructure with sustainable materials; and moving people by providing safe and sustainable products for the transportation industry.

Guests will be offered to explore Dow’s offering at this year’s Chinaplas, including:

COF stable resin

Our Coefficent of Friction (COF) Stable Resin XUS59999.110 streamlines the lamination process, minimizing production interruptions and waste.

BOPE enabled ‘Fully recyclable Polyethylene (PE) package’

Full PE flexible packaging solutions, without other polymers, enable more simple and economic recycling, which means higher recyclability and reuse potential.

Down-gauged Heavy Duty Shipping Sack

Now 110 microns thick – a reduction of more than 10 percent – the new down-gauged Heavy Duty Shipping Sack, enabled by INNATE(TM) Precision Packaging Resins, allows for the use of less materials in production without compromising performance.

OPULUX(TM) HGT

OPULUX(TM) HGT Optical Finishes provide packaging with high gloss, high thermal and high chemical resistance, enabling the production of full PE pouches helping advance plastic circularity.

Extreme PE Diaper

Extreme PE diaper not only provides ultra-soft cloth-like hand feel to the product, but also enable the product construction with a single material – polyethylene – opening the door to more sustainable hygiene products which make recycling easier by reducing the need to separate out mixed materials.

Transportation – ENGAGE(TM) 11000

Less is best. The ENGAGE(TM) 11000 series enable lighter and thinner car parts while maintaining performance, durability and impact resistance, as well as improved fuel efficiency.

Transportation – NORDEL(TM) 4571 XFM, 4771 XFL and 3765 XFL EPDM

The three newest additions to the NORDEL(TM) family feature extra fast mixing and filler loading applications, perfect for automotive sealing systems, hoses, thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) and other applications. The XFM and XFL product families strike the optimum balance of cost, processability, and performance at various end use temperatures.

High performance elastomer and ethylene copolymer modifiers for polyolefin masterbatch

VERSIFY(TM) and FUSABOND(TM) polymeric additives enable high filler loading in CaCO3 masterbatch formulation, while improving functionality and productivity. This solution strengthens polypropylene woven bags and polyethylene film bags, which in return, means total system cost optimization opportunity and better quality.
