Western Australia’s tourism businesses have enjoyed a dream run of success at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, winning 5 gold medals.
The awards celebrate innovation and exceptional standards in Australian tourism.
WA was recognised with a total of 12 medals at the industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony, held in Sydney last night.
WA’s outstanding success was due recognition, with the State’s tourism industry experiencing very positive growth during the past 12 months, in the highly competitive global tourism market.
It also comes on the back of the stunning Walking On a Dream global and local marketing campaign and a series of major events hosted in WA.
The gold medals were indicative of the wide range of diverse experiences across the State, with the successful businesses located in Exmouth, Broome, Rottnest Island, Bunker Bay and Perth.
The medal winners ranged from cultural walking tours to 5-star hotels, and from whale shark experiences to pearl farming,
