Campaspe Shire Council is inviting the community to dress up their dog and join in the official opening of Stage 2 of the Echuca East Community Precinct.
Let your pup’s personality shine, get into the spirit of the day and dress your pooch (and even yourself!) in the most creative, adorable or hilarious costume to be in the running to win some fantastic prizes at the official opening on Sunday 22 October from 9 – 10.30am.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Rob Amos said the facilities at Echuca East are a vibrant addition to the community that provide a fun and recreational space for local residents, and the official opening should match that vibe.
“The completion of Stage 2 included the off-leash dog park so we wanted to involve residents as well as their furry friends in the celebrations. It will be a fun Sunday morning for the whole family,” Mayor Amos said.
Echuca East Community Precinct houses the first fenced off leash dog park within Campaspe Shire, providing a safe space for dogs to run free whilst allowing opportunities for social connections and a strong sense of community for dog owners.
“Prizes will be awarded for the top three best-dressed dogs, so be sure to let your pup’s personality shine and let your creative skills flow!” Mayor Amos added.
Funding for the project was secured through the Community Infrastructure Loans Scheme, a low interest subsidised loan program offered by the Victorian Government to local government to deliver significant community infrastructure projects.
