A drink driver became stuck on the O-Bahn at Modbury last night and then allegedly assaulted police.
Police and emergency services were called to the Tea Tree Plaza O-Bahn interchange about 8.45pm on Monday 25 December after a vehicle drove onto the tracks and became stuck.
The Nissan SUV sustained damage to the front wheel and suspension and had to be towed from the tracks.
While being driven back to the Holden Hill Police Station for a breath test, it will be alleged the man assaulted a police officer, causing minor injuries to her face.
The 52-year-old Magill man subsequently recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.254 – more than five times the legal limit.
He was arrested and charged with drink driving, aggravated driving without due care and assault police. He was issued with an instant loss of licence for 12 months and bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 11 March.
