Drug Offences At Charleville

Police have charged a man with multiple drug offences, after executing a search warrant at a property in Charleville on Friday, July 26.

It will be alleged during the search of a property on Cobb Street, officers located a quantity of methylamphetamine, close to $900 in cash, drug paraphernalia and utensils, among other items such as mobile phones.

A 51-year-old man was charged with 11 drug related offences including possessing dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs, receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying, possess utensils, and possess anything used in the commission of a crime.

He has been remanded in custody and is expected to re-appear in Charleville Magistrates Court on September 17.

Charleville officer in charge, Senior Sergeant Noel Jones said by disrupting alleged criminal behaviour in this way, police aim to deter others as well.

“This investigation forms part of an ongoing effort by police to reduce the harm caused by the prevalence of hard drugs like methylamphetamine in the community,” Senior Sergeant Jones said.

“I urge people to come forward with information about drug dealing.
