Detectives from the Springvale Divisional Response Unit (DRU) have taken approximately 19 kilograms of cannabis and 30 grams of methylamphetamine off the street following two search warrants on Wednesday 27 July.
Assisted by the Dog Squad and Clandestine Laboratory Squad, police arrested and charged two Pakenham men during the early morning raids, seizing:
– Approximately 19 kilograms of what is alleged to be cannabis with an estimated street value of $380,000
– Approximately 30 grams of what is alleged to be methylamphetamine with an estimated street value of $6,000
– Approximately $76,600 cash
– An imitation firearm
– A taser
– A butterfly knife
A 51-year-old Pakenham man has been charged with trafficking and possession of cannabis and methylamphetamine, cultivating a drug of dependence, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of ammunition and dealing with the proceeds of crime.
A 47-year-old Pakenham man has been charged with three counts of possessing a drug of dependence and possession of an unregistered firearm.
Both men have been bailed to appear before the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 29 November.
