A man found in possession of a large quantity of drugs was arrested and charged in Tennant Creek yesterday.
The 63-year-old man was travelling on the Stuart Highway south of Tennant Creek when he was stopped for a random breath test by members of the Tennant Creek Investigations Unit.
It is alleged the man returned a positive reading and a search of the vehicle located more than 1.4kgs of Cannabis concealed in a box in the back of the vehicle.
The man was arrested and transported to the Tennant Creek Watchhouse and later charged with;
- One count of Possession Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug – Commercial quantity
- One count of Supply Scheduled 2 Dangerous Drug – Commercial quantity
- One count of Drive with a prohibited drug in blood.
The man has been bailed to appear before the Tennant Creek Local Court on November 26, 2019.
