A man has been charged with drink driving after allegedly crashing into a western Sydney library overnight.
About 1am (Thursday 19 November 2020), emergency services were called to Memorial Drive, Granville, after reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and a Mitsubishi Triton utility had crashed into the library building, trapping the female passenger.
The 40-year-old woman was freed by Fire & Rescue NSW and treated by paramedics before being transferred to Westmead Hospital suffering minor injuries.
The driver, a 43-year-old man, was subject to a roadside breath test, returning a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.108
The Sefton man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with mid-range PCA, and negligent driving.
He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court at a future date. His licence was suspended.
The building and vehicle suffered extensive damage as a result of the crash.
