Dubai pips Australia as 2nd among the best family-friendly beaches

Dubai Economy and Tourism

Trying to find the ultimate destination to please the entire family is no easy mission. Thankfully, a new report by travel insurance comparison site InsureMyTrip reveals the world’s best beach destinations suitable for family tourism, and Dubai’s beaches ranked second in the world.

The report recognises Dubai’s family-friendly beaches and has a 7.58/10 score, pipping third place Gold Coast’s score of 7.18/10. Besides this, Guanacaste Province in Costa Rica has a score of 7.65/10 and has bagged first rank. Among the list, sixth place is bagged by two places, Melbourne and Bali, both of which have 7.04 scores. With 3 destinations on the list, Australia is the strongest country on the list with eighth placed Perth (6.88/10) a notable feature.

Looking at everything from average sea temperature (no one wants to take a freezing dip) and the cost of water activities and attractions, the research also checked the cleanliness and safety of the sea.

This achievement comes as development continues in Dubai’s beaches, with the announcement of more night swimming beach areas, beach cycling paths, and designated ladies-only beaches.

Top Beaches To Vacation With Family In Dubai

  • For a beach spot that’s at the heart of the action, head to The Beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence. With a promenade of restaurants, boutiques, markets, The Beach mall and even an outdoor cinema, this beach is a favourite for families – with water sports, banana boating, camel rides and more, that are perfect for a beach holiday. Don’t miss the enormous inflatable water park, Dubai Aqua Park, anchored just offshore, featuring trampolines, slides, climbing frames, swings and various obstacles, all guaranteeing hours of safe, family-friendly fun.
  • For the perfect backdrop of the iconic Burj Al Arab, head to Sunset Beach in Umm Suqeim, where the view of the “world’s most luxurious” hotel is a favourite for photos and selfies. The free beach is a perpetual hive of activity and one of the emirate’s most beautiful stretches of sand and is also a great launch pad for some stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking around the famous hotel’s island – there’s even a built-in running track, and an adorable Arabian Tea House if you want to grab some lunch.
  • Kite Beach, meanwhile, is named after the many kite surfers that have made this stretch of sand their own. Rush here for a spot of beach volleyball or try your balance at stand-up paddle-boarding and kayaking. The beach hosts plenty of non-aqua activities too, including a skatepark, an outdoor trampoline and a toddler-friendly area. Post-swim, make your way to one of the many beach canteens – including SALT, a food cart style café serving up some of the best sliders in the city.
  • Dubai has also redefined the urban beach with chic precincts such as La Mer, the city’s must-visit beachfront destination. With twinkling lights and some of the city’s best street art along the beachfront promenade, La Mer is teeming with unique, Instagrammable backdrops to capture in that square frame. You can also
