- The project will deliver 204 new beds, ambulatory care and a significant expansion of existing services including theatres, birthing, endoscopy and a range of other clinical and support services.
- Construction will support 2,573 jobs and is due for completion in 2028, weather permitting.
A new expansion project at Redcliffe Hospital is taking shape, with early works commencing this month on the over $1.1 billion major redevelopment.
The expansion and refurbishment project will deliver a bigger and better hospital for the growing Redcliffe community.
The project includes delivering a nine storey Clinical Services Building, as well as 204 new beds and an expansion of existing services across including theatres, emergency, birthing, endoscopy and a range of other clinical and support services.
This expansion will enable a more integrated service delivery model.
More than 2,500 jobs will be supported during construction, under managing contractor Multiplex Constructions.
The expansion is one of 11 major hospital expansions in delivery by the Miles Labor Government. A further three new hospitals will be built by the government in Coomera, Bundaberg and Toowoomba.
The Big Hospital Build will provide an almost 2,200 bed boost to Queensland’s hospital system and is the biggest capital investment in health in Queensland’s history.
It’s expected the Redcliffe Hospital expansion will be completed by late 2028, weather and construction conditions permitting.
